Everything has to start somewhere. Here is page 1.
This website is an exercise on many levels- technical, social, communicative, etc. I'm certain to write about the technical challenges: my goal has been to learn something completely new about design, development, and deployment. I'm very excited about how it works under the hood- but it is all a bit pointless without actually functioning. A website is a product that people use- no matter how well the server stack runs, or how DRY your code is, it is still a medium for communication. It is nothing if not useful or beautiful. I hope to create, use, and sustain something that meets this description in some measure, however small.
To set a fitting atmosphere for this adventure, I'll borrow a few words from Ze Frank's "An Invocation for Beginnings"
